New Hamsterdam Sculpture Contest
Beardlace Industries announces its first art contest New Hamsterdam Sculpture-O-Rama Contest-Type Event.
The Rules
• Build a three dimensional sculpture in the Art District of New Hamsterdam.This is free form in design - you can use any materials or on any subject. You can build up to 40 long and 40 wide with no height restrictions. Try to stay 8 - 10 places away from the next sculpture over. You can build on either side of the street. Multiple submissions are accepted. Forming a team and building as a group is acceptable.
• In-game, all sculptures must have a sign proclaiming the creator at minimum.
• Creators must enter their piece on the Aporkalyse wiki article entitled New Hamsterdam Sculptures with a brief statement and at least one picture.
• Creators may work in teams.
• Creators will provide their own tools, including ladders.
• Contest ends February 5th. The winners will be announced on February 6th, 2011.
• Judging will be conducted by a team of judges selected by Beardlace Industries.
• Prizes will be given to all participants.
• Grand Prizes will be given to the Top 3 and Community Favorite.
• Community Favorite voting will begin on February 1st 2011 and continue through February 5th. Any mefightclub community member may contact Beardlace and vote for their favorite designs.
Prizes
All participants will receive something. The "Top 3" and the "Community Favorite" will receive something nice.
If you live in the United States, Beardlace Industries will mail the winners something from their corporate headquarters. Prize possibilities include : logitech USB controllers, good books, electronic devices, curious toys, any number of interesting things will be selected at random.
Residents outside of the United States will receive a digital prize. Digital possibilites include any combination of the following: rare in-game items, several hours of in-game slave labor by Beardlace, a giant statue built of your avatar battling the kaiju monster of your choice, a mspaint certificate of participation, perchance another video game from Steam or goodoldgames.
The fine print -
ELIGIBILITY: The "New Hamsterdam Sculpture-O-Rama Contest-Type Event." (“Contest”) is open only to residents of the Aporkalypse server. Employees, officers, directors and agents of Beardlace Industries (“Sponsor”), New Hamsterdam Group LLC, and their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising/promotional agencies, and members of the immediate family or persons living in the same household of such individuals, are ineligible to win a prize. Void in PT, S5,TS, and where prohibited. Subject to all federal, state and local laws. All eligible individuals as defined herein are referred to as “Entrant”.
TO ENTER: Beginning on 1/24/11 at 12:00:01 a.m. Mountain Time (MT) through 11:59:59 p.m. (MT) on 2/5/11 (“Contest Period”), a prospective Entrant must a) build at least one sculpture along the start of The Road in New Hamsterdam. Lots are 40 long and 40 wide from the sidewalk. Leave 8 - 10 spaces between each sculpture. There is no height restriction. A sculpture may go from adminium to the sky.
Beardlace Industries will make every attempt to clear out lots. Lots are not guaranteed to be clear of all stone and dirt. Entrants may have to clear a lot.
b) Upload one to three (1-3) photographs (“Photos” are preferred in JPG format and each photo may not exceed 1MB. Your wonder chicken thanks you.) of your original sculptures to the New Hamsterdam sculptures wiki article ; (c) Input the name of your sculpture in English (up to 10000 characters, including spacing); and further
(d) Input between one and ten (1-10) sentences (each sentence must be unique and different) in English (up to 500 characters, including spacing) that describes your original sculpture.
Incomplete, unintelligible entries and entries that do not fully comply with all of the requirements set forth herein will make me sad.
This is an excuse to have fun, to give random things to mefighters, and be friends.
